What is the name of your state? VA

As of now I am getting harassment via text message from my former best friend, another ex friend and others. I know I post here a bit but I need to know if I can get help with this. Its annoying and frustrating, I did block them but they might find other ways to harass me. Anything I can do legally?

Can you do anything legally for actions they might take? Nope. If they do find other ways to bother you, file a complaint with the police or have an attorney serve them with a cease and desist letter. That may scare them off.

If you blocked their texts, they at least cannot harass you that way again.

Have you changed your phone number and email address?

You have been “harassed” online by friends before. Did you talk to an attorney in your area yet, as you were advised to do previously?

When you were here in February, I provided you with a link to Virginia’s harassment law. Harassment by computer can be charged as a Class 1 misdemeanor. If the harassment continues and is either excessive or threatening, you can make a report to the police. You can also speak to the attorney you see about obtaining a restraining order.

They stopped so I was hoping they would go away. He came back and harassed me again tonight.

I am sorry that you are continuing to be harassed, DisabledGeek.

You might want to try some of the suggestions that have been offered.

Good luck.

Do remember, intermittent reinforcement is the strongest kind. DO NOT respond to his out-of-the-blue-it-has -been -a-long-time harassment in any way he is aware of unless it becomes something you can do something about legally. Do not just communicate with him again and say something like "I'm telling you once and for all, leave me alone or I'll......." Totally no reinforcement is the best way to go. Remember, with crazy people you do not want them to get to thinking you are the center of their world or the cause of all their problems.

Keep a detailed written record of all the times you are harassed and then report the harassment to the police. The police may do nothing more than contact those harassing you and tell them to stop, but at least you will have the police report to refer to if you decide to seek a restraining order. An attorney’s cease and desist letter sent to your harassers, as suggested earlier by Just Blue, is another idea to try.
