The dog is "property" his separate "Property" prior to marriage, not marital property, he can remove his separate property from the home if he wishes. It is not your dog. It is not your property. Don't make an issue of it and that will take all the fun out of it for him, then clean hous real good, to get rid of the pet oders and breath easier than you will be rid of your burdens. His Ex will tire of caring for the dog after too long. Dogs lived outside she will be ok. With a name like Harley I will ask if the dog is a pitbull by any chance?

Harley is a 14 year old lab mix.

While I will certainly own the fact that it is upsetting to me to read the interpretations of law provided here that do not support my desired end result - and I know I am being hard headed in not wanting to accept them - it is hypocritical for some to profess this forum to be about legal advice (not about supporting people not familiar to the divorce process) who then include digs aimed at those seeking assistance.

Unfortunately that is a bit of hypocrisy that does tend to take place here. We are all occasionally guilty of that.

You get hypocritical answers after you are given the correct legal advice and then add to the story when it is not the advice you wanted to hear. You wanted everyone to tell you he had to give the dog back and when that did not happen you did not like it.

The bottom line is, it is not how YOU interpret the order it is how the court interprets it that matters and since it was legally only his dog he can do with it as he pleases.
