What is the name of your state? Texas

When a will has been filed for probate, are the children notified whether they are in the will or not, beneficiaries, or not ? Such as a mother passing away, someone else being Executor and filing for probate, are the children notified ? Thank you kindly.

Yes, IF the executor chooses to file the will for probate, which is normally done within 30 days after the death. Check at the county courthouse probate court to see if anything has been filed. If you think there is a reason that the executor may be intentionally delaying the filing of the will, then you need to consult an attorney to consider whether you want to open up probate and have the judge force this executor to produce the will.

Thank you for your reply Dandy Don. The will, has in fact been filed for probate. What I was asking was : in Texas, is there a requirement for someone to notify the children of the deceased as to a will be filed and probated---even if they are not a beneficiary in a will ?
