Help with Child Support Calculator

When you fill in the child support calculator, it asks about legal responsibility to subsequent children. Does this somehow take into account responsibility for children in a marriage? Obviously there's no legal support order, but there's still a financial responsibility to the children. If so, what is an appropriate way to figure an amount?

In some states it can refer to subsequent children. However, if the online calculator uses the term "legal responsibility" then they are talking about court orders most likely.

It's a complicated case. I'm helping my husband fill out the calculator so he has an idea what he'll owe. Each parent has 2 subsequent children from the child in question. My husband and I are married, so he has no court order for payments, but obviously is part of all of our bills. Mother currently does not work (although she has no reason for this) therefore does not have cost for daycare for any of her kids. She is currently in rehab, and as far as we know when she gets out she'll be living with family and have no bills to pay. I've never used the calculator before, so was unsure how/if the court takes any of into consideration. If they do I'm assuming it's in person when addressed in court.

The Indiana calculator DOES take into consideration both prior and subsequent children. I just went and reviewed it again and on the page where it talks about prior born children there are two different sections. One for children where there are child support orders and one for children without child support orders. The Legal Duty one is for prior born children without child support orders. Subsequent children are listed on the page before that one. Those include ALL subsequent children, whether they come from a marriage or not.
