Huh? Are you assuming that they would have Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday?...otherwise I don't get it.
Yep. I know a family who also splits Thanksgiving. The parent who's time is in the morning does their dinner the night before. The one who has kiddo for the remainder of the day does their dinner that evening. But the family i'm referring to has a fantastic co-parenting relationship and an equally understanding family so its worked out easily for them. I was also thinking that its a long drive for such a short amount of time unless dad and kiddo are already going to be there the night before.

OP have you asked dad for gas money? I know it seems trivial but if dad isn't going to budge on travel and meet-up then you might have to bite the bullet on this one and agree until you can get the order clarified. But if you're going to agree I would put the foot down and say that there needs to be something in the form of reimbursement for the expenses you shouldn't be incurring.

Honestly, I think I would just give up my Thanksgiving and file for a modification to change to e/o year, rather than a split holiday.

Neither parent is having Thanksgiving in their normal home.

Who has the child on Fri., Sat, and Sun.?
