Such as buying a car with no intention of actually using it so that their sex partner (who CAN'T legally drive) has a car?

She is naive and took his word that he had checked into it. Further, she had no idea at the time that she could not register a vehicle. She thought that was solved with BF making arrangements with the other parties insurance. Also something she relied on him to take care of. Her naivete does not (in my eyes) disregard her adult responsibility. It's just too bad.

Isn't that why we have the consumer protection agencies? hmmm.
So that justification for shady dealing doesn't fly for me.
