just because the father is a man does not automatically give grounds for supervised visitation
Wow, we ARE mature on this site. Please re-read because I stated nothing of the sort. You just assumed that is what I meant. He could NOT care for an infant and had been spotty at best with visitation before they went to court for custody. If a woman (OR A MAN) feels there is anything that may impact thier child(ren)s health, then they should speak up and say so to the judge.

I may be a newbie here but I was only giving a suggestion to someone looking for help. I don't know what kind of crap you have been thru fighting with whoever on this site, but leave me out of it. I don't really care who you think you are in life or who important you think you are or how long you've been on this site. You know nothing about me.

Custody and visitation are very very touchy subjects. This isn't a "dude who's your favorite football player" kind of site. I was giving an option I know is available in PA. I've been reading a lot on here and I see a lot of hostility towards people that are only asking for help in what could be one of the toughest times in thier lives.

hbkgurl - that was hardly a snotty or rude reply. It was right on point - simply being the father doesn't immediately imply supervised visitation is necessary. The circumstances of your friend may or may not apply here - that was the point. No need to get huffy this early in the morning.

I like being huffy in the morning.

I think it applies to this girls situation, no where did I state that ALL MEN should have supervised visits. That's just silly. I did not make a general post on the board, I replied to this thread.

 this smiles says a lot of things, be sure you really mean it when you use it. It causes people to become huffy.

Sure - I misread "this" as "the" due to your use of plural smileys. This smiley, the smileys. That's all. A misread. And I always mean  when I use it.

Yup, my mistake.

Generally speaking that smilie used after quoting someone can be taken very harshly and most people will respond like I did.

I'm not trying to start anything, I just came here looking for some help. I'll be the first to admit that I know very little about custody and visitation laws. I was simply trying to help the original poster with what little I do know. I'm sorry that I've turned her thread into a debate completely unrealted to her question, that's not fair to her.
