Sorry, MacGregor. You are right that I didn't see your post.

What I meant by posting your question about title insurance in the insurance section was to go to the part of this FreeAdvice forum entitled Insurance and pose the same question you asked me here to the insurance experts there. It means starting a new thread there.

For instance, you posted your first question here under Consumer & General Practice Law, "Online Purchases and Sales". Find the section heading Insurance and post your title insurance question under one of the insurance categories there. The Insurance section is where all of the insurance experts hang out - they may not always check "Online Purchases and Sales" for insurance questions.

I made purchases to a site, and I didn't realize that you can scroll to the bottom of the page and see the copyright date, make sure that the copyright is current! I made a purchase to a site, and received nothing for my payment, but luckily, I used Paypal. I made a report and eventually finally got what I had paid for. I think Paypal is by far the safest way to pay, most credible sites have a Paypal option. Be sure that the Paypal page that it takes you to is authentic and secured. I think I wouldn't pay for something on a site I'm unfamiliar with without the option of Paypal.

PayPal lets you pay online through their secured site without revealing your credit card numbers to the merchant from whom you are purchasing merchandise. They act as a "middleman" for online transactions. PayPal guarantees 100% protection from unauthorized uses or payments - and it is free to use.

I agree with DyingFaerie that sites that allow payments through PayPal are generally the safer sites to go to. I am not aware of any problems people have had with the PayPal service.
