If I pay the debt.. will it reset the date of last activity?

and will it be removed from the collections column on my reports and just show as a regular account thats been past due a few times?

and if I didnt pay the account and after 7 years I request it be removed and it is.. can it be legally re-reported to the file and have to remain there for another 7 years?
