Hair
(lyrics by James Rado & Gerome Ragni)

She asks me why...I'm just a hairy guy
I'm hairy noon and night; Hair that's a fright.
I'm hairy high and low,
Don't ask me why; don't know!
It's not for lack of bread
Like the Grateful Dead; darling

Gimme a head with hair, long beautiful hair
Shining, gleaming, steaming, flaxen, waxen
Give me down to there, hair!
Shoulder length, longer (hair!)
Here baby, there mama, Everywhere daddy daddy

CHORUS:
Hair! (hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair)
Flow it, Show it;
Long as God can grow it, My Hair!

Let it fly in the breeze and get caught in the trees
Give a home to the fleas in my hair
A home for fleas, a hive for bees
A nest for birds, there ain't no words
For the beauty, the splendor, the wonder of my

CHORUS

I want it long, straight, curly, fuzzy
Snaggy, shaggy, ratty, matty
Oily, greasy, fleecy, shining
Gleaming, steaming, flaxen, waxen
Knotted, polka-dotted; Twisted, beaded, braided
Powdered, flowered, and confettied
Bangled, tangled, spangled and spaghettied!

O-oh, Say can you see; my eyes if you can,
Then my hair's too short!
Down to here, down to there,
Down to where, down to there;
It stops by itself!
doo doo doo doo doot-doot doo doo doot

They'll be ga-ga at the go-go
when they see me in my toga
My toga made of blond, brilliantined, Biblical hair
My hair like Jesus wore it
Hallelujah I adore it
Hallelujah Mary loved her son
Why don't my Mother love me?

Can I be expelled from a public school for having my hair "descend below the ear lobe or touch the collar"?

This is sexist because it only applies to male students. Isnt that agaisnt the constitution?

How can I be denied an education based on the legnth of my hair? Its a few inches past my shoulders and is kept clean.

I read on the article below that a school was sued becuase of the same thing.

My hair is more important to me then my education and im willing to get expelled for it,but I wish they would allow me to stay in school so I could graduate. Is there anything I can do to not be expelled? Can I sue the schoolboard if I get expelled? I am not cutting my hair.
You know...you are right! Don't cut your hair!! Your too stupid to graduate anyhow....and think how warm all that hair will keep you when your living in that cardboard box!

To everyone else...please tell me...is it the water? Inbreeding??? WHY are kids so DUMB?

You know, if this is the kind of raw material the state of LA has to work with, maybe all the blame can't be placed on the education system itself.

Your right! Perhaps its in-breeding...need to add ingredients to the genetic soup! ;)

Is there a school policy? Is hair length an issue in the policy. Are you violating policy? Is punishment laid out in policy?
