Maybe I missed something, but here goes.

You got a court order that forced him to leave the home.

You are in the home with the safe that contains illegal firearms.

The ATF is getting a court order to search that safe.

IMO, your ex could claim they are not his, but yours, since you are in sole possession of the home, the safe and the firearms. For all he knows, you bought them, put them in there and tried to say they were his.

If he is such a good liar as you say, he is very likely to take this road. You could be getting much more than you bargained for.
