How do I get this dealership to take a vehicle back when it’s the wrong year asked for?

I purchased a vehicle thinking I was getting a 2019. I later found out it was a 2018. I specifically told the salesperson that I didn’t want a 2018 because there was no way to position the seat to comfortable position and it would cause my leg to hurt. I have spoken to the salesperson and general manager of the dealership and all they said that the only way they could help me is to trade in the vehicle. There is no other vehicle that this dealership has hat I want. It’s not my fault that I have this vehicle. It’s theirs.

US Law only. What is the name of your state?

So you bought the vehicle without even just sitting in it? Or you did but failed to notice that the seat could not be positioned as you expected? Either way, seems that responsibility falls all on you.

It is probably a 2019 model because it's still 2018 so no way has it been built yet. Unless it's the DeLorean from the movies ;)
Open the drivers door where you will find a label giving the cars build date, or check the VIN number's 10th letter. J is 2018, K is 2019

Huh? The 2019's started coming out many moons ago...
I know. There's always a lot of confusion as to what year a car is. Do you go by the model year (Hyundai released their 2017 models in January of 2016) or the actual date of manufacture?
Some countries now insist that the only year they can use is the year it was built.
So the OP's car may have been built in 2018, but was sold with 2019 model specs.

In the us a model year can start up to one year prior to the designated year. In other words, a manufacturer can sell a car produced in Jan 2018 as a 2019 model. The date of manufacture is indicated in several stickers legally mandated to be on the car as well.

The model year is specified by the mannufacfurer. The production year is a matter of fact.

Often times rules such as emissions controls and safety products are applied to model years. Parts applications are also typically designated by model year as well.

It’s clear the op is speaking of model year and not production date

Not my fault! The year that I test drove didn’t make my leg hurt! The paperwork says a different year from what I got!
