You made a police report. In most jurisdictions, if there are injuries as serious as you describe, they would have forwarded the case to the DA requesting a review for charges. If the case was not sent for review, it might have been because you stated you would not be in state to pursue the matter or because the incident was not clear. Perhaps she alleged you were the aggressor and ws defending herself when you were injured?
Will her boyfriend back up your claim to being assaulted for no reason? Did he that night?
If the maatter went to trial, she could be ordered to pay you restitution if she were convicted. However, after 10 months it is less likely that the state will pursue this.
So, call the police department that took the report. Ask what happened with the report and whether or not you can have the case sent to the DA for review because you'd like criminal charges.
As for damages, the reason you cannot get an attorney is that the amounts you apparently seek are too low to warrant the time and effort of an attorney. An attorney will likely want to receive at least $3000 or more for his or her efforts, and your total damages do not appear to rise to even that meager level. So, small claims would appear to be your venue, and that will require two or more trips to CO. Whether you can seek the expenses of that trip as part of restitution in small claims in CO is something I do not know.
It may be time to move on and put this behind you.
