My friend works in a restaurant and is given a cash drawer with $300 a the start of the shift. Throughout the night she would make transactions, give the costumer their change and the left over would go into her tips. Then at the end of the night the employer would run a report to find out how much their should be in the register. If it is up the employer keeps the money and if it is down my friend has to pay the difference out of her pocket.
I just found something that says the employer cannot take the money from my friend if it is short, but can they keep the money if it is up?
thanks,
