Maybe -- but I live almost exactly 120 miles from my mom, and it's barely a 2 hour drive -- and I have been known to drive it just to have lunch with her and turn around to drive home.Well I could see that happening. You are talking about a 3 hour or more drive depending on traffic. Dad would be spending half his weekend just driving back and forth to see his child.
I wouldn't want to live that far from my kids, but if these things were THAT important to Dad, he really should have solidified custody before it was an issue.
In this case though, Dad hasn't even filed anything -- there's no "sign of a court hearing". There's supposition that Mom only moved because Dad said he MIGHT file. That's not the same thing.Just going by what I see in Family Court in my County, The judge here hates when a parent up and moves across state at the first sign of a court hearing. They seriously think since they are in the same state that he won't make them bring the child back. I have seen it happen on a few occasions.
