but my brother didnt take her across state lines, she found her way down here.
The argument could be made that he enticed her to cross state lines. Not bright.

How is she legally married anyway? Who signed to give her permission? They are in big trouble.
I hope this helps...

Georgia:

Under 18: If you are 16 or 17 years old, you may apply if accompanied by both parents who have given written consent. If the bride is pregnant, no parental consent is required if you submit a statement from a licensed physician certifying that the bride is pregnant. If underage applicants already have a child, they should present a certified copy of the birth certificate for the child at the time of application. If parental consent is not required, the court will notify parents or guardians that you have been issued a marriage license. There is an additional fee of $1.00 per letter.

Her brother was sexually abusing her but she didn't get pregnant until about a half a year after she ran away, and they never or not so far have sent a letter to her parents or she hasnt heard about it yet.

What is the name of your state? Georgia

I posted this because my friend who married my brother wants to tell her mom that she is married and now has a baby but doesnt want her to be able to press charges against her husband who is 21 she ran away from NC at 16 and is now 17 is she a legal adult in Georgia and can her parents press charges even now after they have been legally married?
After all the rest of the replies, I guess the question is...after all this time, why can't she wait until she is 18 to tell her parents? Nobody has done anything so far. What is the hurry now?

She want to tell her mom and let her know that she is ok and is married and has a kid but doesnt want anything bad to happen to her husband. That is the hurry, it has been on her mind forever and she wants to get it off of her mind.

She CAN (and should) do that and still not "give up" her husband, or even her location if she feels that puts hubby at risk. She certainly should let her family know she is well and not living "on the streets". Better she at least let them hear from her than hear nothing at all.

Isn't there a third party who can forward a correspondence and photos so her family, at minimum, is assured she is well?

Jesus, what's the problem here? All she has to do is pick up a phone, call home and tell them she's alive and well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She doesn't have to tell them where she is if she wants to continue to live in hiding forever.

Use some imagination for god's sake.
