I am wondering if its the fact that the "medical experts"on the show can spew out false information about a factual proven disability. In the show it was not portayed as opinion.
It's fiction. You do know what that word means, right? Made up, not real, out of the minds of writers. Even the 'medical expert' was just a character created by the writers. You get this concept of fiction, do you not? Fiction isn't about accurate portrayal, it's about entertainment.

Anyway thank you all for your time...it might not be slander but it does fall under some catagory.
Yes, the category of fictional TV drama. It's TELEVISION. I think the network, producers, et al expect adults to realize it's not real.

Besides, what would YOUR damages be, personally? Besides hurt feelings, those don't count. No one is entitled to never be offended or hurt. We don't get that right as humans despite what the PC bedwetters would have you believe.

The answer to the question, "Can I Sue?" is always yes. The better question is "Can I successfully sue?" In your case, the answer is no.

Even before you get to the facts and a theory of cause of action, you have a problem in what is known as standing. You don't have any injury specific enough to you to be compensable in court. Just think if anyone who was offended by something they saw on TV or read in the newspaper could successfully sue. Think of the interesting programming we would have. Even the innocuous programs could be sued. I heard Barney singing once and the song still haunts me.
