Kids always make the rounds asking people for stuff when they want something. I may be a new mom (and step-mom) but I was a kid once and have been around plenty to know that kids ask around to get what they want.
Wrong. Kids don't ALWAYS do this. Mine don't. Never have. They know what our budget is, and understand that some things simply aren't possible. They save their money and/or earn extra in various ways. And I don't think it would ever occur to them to ask their Dad.

So maybe you and the kids you know are moochers, but that doesn't mean ALL kids are.
