What is the name of your state?OH

I was talking with one of my neighbors this weekend, and she said that her ex is talking to his lawyer because she was a "room mom" for her son's Halloween party at school (2nd grade) and it was during his week of visitation. She was at the school for 2 hours and left her son there to ride the bus to his dad's house. She signed up for this at the begining of the school year. Apparently Dad says this is not allowed because he never sees the child during her time. She says that there is nothing in their papers about either of them seeing the child during the other's time, let alone a school party. So I'm curious...is this really something that could cause a stink in court? It just seems so petty to me.

Oh for heaven's sake - that is ridiculously petty. Dad could just as easily volunteer to do something at the school during Mom's time. Tell your friend not to sweat it.

Seeing how this was an IN school event (I am assuming these are the same halloween parties I remember from grade school), the parent making the stink is also sounding like a whiney kid. I would love to hear what the Judge would have to so to the parent who even brought this in front of him/her.

I doubt his lawyer is stupid enough to let him get it in front of the judge.

Both parents

Have a right to be involved with any aspect of school for the child no matter who's week it is.

Neighbor should remind her X that school time is not 'his' OR 'her' time...school time is up for grabs. Any or both parents can attend school events/functions (absent any Order of Restraint, etc.)

Then, after she reminds him of that, she can invite him to join in any school events in the future...and then smile. :D

If this judge heard it, I would admonish his lawyer on the record for being stupid.

Hey, I've done it before!

This one made me laugh out loud. People come up with ridiculous things...but this one is a good one. You got the answers you needed...and I got a decent chuckle out of it too..... :D

Nothing new with him really. He threatened the psychologist that he would bring charges against him if he told me any of his test results. What the jackass failed to realize it that the dr has to file everything with the courts, so I will see them anyway. Eventually, I will have to have sessions with msdad. That's not going to be fun. It takes a BIG MAN to put a 9 year old in therapy! He's got to be so proud of himself. But him and my son have a connection, "he can feel it" that's one on the many dumb things he said in court.
