I posted last month about my experience. I have been extremely worried and sad for what has happened to me (1 st Dui in VA), no accidents, etc. I am still feeling regret and feel completely ashamed and scared; however, I know it is not the end of the world....

I have come to this board everyday since my ordeal to read others' experiences, but I have found out a lot of resentment by many posters. We all come here for advice on a terrible situation, and I know some people are careless with multiple offenses and don't care much. However, I believe the majority of us are normal, hard working individuals who made a terrible judgement call and drove after a few drinks.....My life has changed drastically. I can't sleep, eat, concentrate, or feeling ashamed and sad about my stupidity.

I would like to see more compasion (or abstinence) by others trying to hurt instead of help people in trouble. I know a dui is a terrible crime, but please this is the place for one to vent and ask for guidance not critisism...

With that being said,

Hope nobody here gets in trouble (or trouble again). It is not worth it and makes your life fall apart (in my case for almost 2 months). I know I will be guilty (my lawyer suggested since I refused the breathalizer) but my court day is 3 weeks from now, and I am affraid of the long term consequences of my actions....

You should contact FreeAdvice.com and voice your complaint. These boards are suppose to offer legal advice - not judgment. What ever you do, don't listen to these bozos that offer zero legal advice and nothing but nonsense comments. They're trying to play on your fears. Makes them feel some how bigger. Don't beat yourself up too bad, it's NOT the end of the world - even though your lawyer wants you to believe it by taking your $$, and the crumbs here want you to believe it by trying to make you feel bad. You know you're not of the criminal mindset. Keep your head high. And never forget this experience because there are many people you'll meet along the way that will have the same experience as you have had. Good luck.

One of the reasons I come here is selfish. I like to help others who are going through a first offense DUI, but reading here daily helps prevent "DUI amnesia". If I'm out having fun, all I have to do is remember the posts I read here in the morning; same story, different day.

Question: How many posters here have never in their lives driven a vehicle after consuming any alcohol?

I love it when criminals come to the aid of other criminals. What's even funnier is that you should hold your head up high.

I guess since you didn't kill someone you should wear your CHOICE to drive drunk as a badge of honor.

You have obviously missed the whole point of this site. This is the place for LEGAL advice, unfortunately most criminals (or their lovers) that come here don't like what the law says, hence get b*tchy and when that happens they get shut down by other members, rightly so.

If you don't like this site, you are free to stay away from it. No one is forcing you to read or post here every day.
