Hello momof3, would your son's last name happen to start with a C? lol
He told me you'd make him read my post while he was UA. (I'm going to feel stupid if you're the wrong mom.)
Your son is currently awaiting to be NJP'd, which should happen early next week. He will get 45 days of restriction, and serve about 25-30 days of it before getting his seperations packet. It's funny because he told me he was reading on freeadvice about turning yourself in and stuff, and I was like hey thats me, haha.
To the Marine that popped and didn't get court martialed or whatever, thats your unit. This is Casual Platoon, and this is how they do things. What I'm telling you is basically guaranteed. It's case by case but it follows the same path, the whole "case by case" thing just basically means how far you went in the Marine Corps.
Hell, we have a couple of Marines here that were discharged honorably already but got pulled over with a warrant for dessertion, most likely because some LCpl messed up his paperwork somewhere.
We get new casuals almost daily. I do all the checking in, so if you're a concerned mother or something feel free to PM me. I'll just about be the first person your son/daughter meets upon arriving here, I'm kind of in charge of things since I've been here so long.
To the how long you have to be UA before going to Quantico - 180 days if the safe point. There's been less than that. 4 months here, 3 months here, you know. We had 2 from the same unit turn theirself in here a week and a half after they left, they kept them here for a few days then just sent them back to Lejeune.
As for my personal case, it seems like they'll be sending me to a new grunt unit. Nothing wrong with that. As long as I don't have to go back to my old one
Any questions I'm open for them.
