Ex and DD live in WV.

I reside in NH

Technically (confusing ya more) My EX has custody resides in WV, my DD resides in MD with the grandparents and I am in NH.

I will be seeing an attorney very soon about the custody issue (like in a month) but as far as this child support issue I cant see why they are taking money that they are not entitled to....kwim?

just a question for clarification Ohiogal- would she be better off addressing the situation of the incorrect arrears before changing venue? would changing venue without addressing the arrears be like stipulating to the fact that they are accurate?
I started thinking out loud with half of my post. If one office is saying the case should be closed then I wonder if the other parent already changed venue which is mucking up the whole thing. I think she would be better off dealing with the incorrect arrears before changing venue. But if dad changed venue -- this is just thinking out loud -- and the new venue contacted the old venue you end up with a governmental mess. yes there are guidelines and such but that doesn't mean they work and it could have something to do with why she has arrears. That is why I was wondering when dad and child moved and what state because it takes time to establish that but if that time passed.... see where my thoughts are going. Of course there are more posts on this thread left to read and maybe it has been answered already.

I know what you mean but the original custody order is where? I need a flow chart, some tylenol and to look up the CSEA rules in those three states regarding change of jurisdiction.

Original Order is in MD

He has custody and resides in WV, and has for over 6 months.

I reside in NH, and have for 4 years.
Then lets take this a step at a time.
MD says the case should be closed.

Has ex filed for support through WV. To find out contact WV and see if it has been transferred there.

DO NOT REQUEST IT BE TRANSFERRED THERE AT THIS POINT but just inquire to see if ex has filed for child support in WV.

I need more time. I need to do some research which I may not be able to do until Thursday. Can you PM me with a copy of your original post and I will get back to you?
