What is the name of your state? GA

I have a question about liberal visitation. If the CO custody papers say that the father (NCP) should have liberal visitation with child, but then it gives specific days and times after that --- does that mean that the father can only see the child on the specific dates and times?

My guess is you will have to read the court order thoroughly and see exactly how this is spelled out. You may want to post it here so others can be of more help.

It says both?

"...does that mean that the father can only see the child on the specific dates and times?"

No, that's not what it means. Without seeing the exact wording... I'd say it means that the specified times are the minimum, and after that it's more depending on what the CP wants to give, but that it definately should be given. :)

My Georgia decree has the wording....

"The NCP shall have liberal visitation rights with the children and shall have the right to visit with the children at all reasonable times and places. Should the parties be unable to agree as to what is reasonable, the NCP shall have the following specific visitation rights with said children:"

And then it lists specifics.

Now, read the wording. "The NCP shall have liberal visitation rights......at all reasonable times and places". THEN, it says, "Should the parties be unable to agree as to what is reasonable, then NCP shall have the following SPECIFIC...."

In other words, NCP gets "liberal" and "reasonable" visitation, UNLESS the parties can't agree on what's "reasonable". Then, and ONLY then, does it resort to the specific schedule listed.

The specific times and places are the MINIMUM the NCP should have, but the court expects it to be more than the minimum.

Oh Lord. I agreed with FJ... :p

QUESTION??

I believe that is how it is worded in the custody papers.

So, if the CP tells the NCP that he will never see the child except for the days specified, and starts keeping child away from NCP except for the specific times, and CP even leaves child with someone else in the evening when NCP could be spending time with child and wants to but the CP is just using the child to hurt NCP (and hurting the child at the same time), is this contempt or what?

Technically, if she's following the court orders, she's not in contempt. You would have to get a "first right of refusal" clause in the order to be able to take the child when the CP wants to leave the child with someone else such as a babysitter.

An excellent website for NCPs: www.deltabravo.net
