What is the name of your state? CA

I hope somebody will respond to it..
My 19yo son was on 3 month contract with a huge software company. He was very good and the contract was extended for another 3 month.
He was terminated before the end of 3 months in Dec, never was given a good reason.
Now he found out that one co-worker put LSD in his coffee 2 times ( several ex-coworkers confirmed it) and his behaviour was erratic those 2 days. Thus termination.
He got excellent recommendation letter from his boss, but still can't get over it - severe depression etc.
Can anything be done against this employee and the company?
(I learnt LSD doesn't show up in tests) He is not doing drugs so didn't figure out what was wrong, just thought he was going crazy.

Unless he can get someone to attest to the fact that they witnessed employee X put a foreign substance into your son's coffee... there is really no way to prove this.

LSD

My son never tried it before, so he didn't know it was it. He could never guessed since it happened in the office either. He just saw some terrible creatures and as if he is 2 persons, some scarry staff. I couldn't figure out the whole thing either. Now it is clear - now that his co-workers confirmed it.

**A: very interesting. Hexy sometimes thinks he is "2 persons" and sees a terrible creature every morning.

SOMEBODY's lying. If your son was given LSD he would eather say,"****, someone slipped me LSD!" or "****! I need a doctor!"

well... nobody is lying

Why? does it look like a lie? Really?
Anyway, my son also learnt that somebody videotaped him in the office during those episodes. He remembers vaguely, his ex-colleagues confirmed it. He wants to get those tapes, but they are with HR probably..

Seems such a weird story! - that's why probably I don't have helpful responses (with few exceptions) just some puzzling comments.
Thanks anyway.

My initial response was the same... YOU WOULD KNOW IF YOU WERE ON LSD!!!!

But then I thought back to the infamous CIA "MKULTRA" experiments that involved administering LSD to unsuspecting persons and observing the results. It does not appear that any of the subjects realized what had happened to them... including one poor schmuck who autodefenestrated.

But this is 2004. Highly unlikely he was given LSD without his knowledge... but not entirely impossible. No witnesses to the administration of the drug... no case.

get a test

who says that LSD does not show up on tests? i believe it most certainly does, and gets stored in fat cells that can be tested. why not test your son, and see of there any LSD in his body, as a step one. step two, are these people who allegedly saw an employee put something in his drink willing to put that in writing under penalty of perjury? if they do perhaps there is something there. it sounds crazy, but then this is a crazy world we live in. as far as the law, you could sue the person who allegedly put the LSD in your son's drink (if you can prove that), but suing the company may be harder (you would have to show that they had some notice of this type of behavior by the employee ... if it was a supervisor or managing agent of the company, its not as hard).

I've undertaken drug tests for at least 6 different entities... public and private... and they test for everything from steroids to alcohol.

But I've NEVER seen an LSD test. This is primarily because the amount required for a comfortable trip is measured in MICROGRAMS. Plus it gets pissed out of the system within 24 hours. The piss of a recent LSD user actually contains enough LSD to get another person high... or the user could just recycle the LSD! This is true of most powerful hallucinogens. I read in one instance about a possible test that was being developed... but it involved a spinal tap. No thanks!

Historical Factoid: Shamens from Mongolia to Montana used to eat mushrooms or morning glory seeds to communicate with their gods. The common man was not allowed to partake in this sacrament... so they would actually consume the urine of the shamen and have the exact same experience. Since these peoples had no idea about chemically induced hallucinations... it was assumed that the shamens were divine and by consuming their urine... they would share their divinity with the rest of the group.

I wonder how they figured that out.
