People who are guilty lie about many things.

In fact - humans in general lie about many things.

And third parties RARELY know the actual details of the situation.
i couldnt resist this:

generally, dont law enforcement, judges and politicians lie all the time, are they guilty of anything?

generally, arent law enforcement, judges and lawyers third parties?

with all due respect to the government.

having said that

its my understanding, real love can wait to marry, he needs to focus on the trial not U.

generally, innocent people lose at trial for lack of focus.

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? ca
Would it help/hurt someone's case if they were to marry while awaiting trial for first degree murder (self defense though).
Thanks

There are advantages to someone whom is married when you are in prison.

If, I say again if he told you getting married would help his case, maybe he was thinking of something else.

I never understand why people think that getting married before they go to trial will somehow make them " golden" to a jury.

I've been in prison- as a CO!- for 20 years and have seen countless idiots try to pull this.

Does getting married change any of the facts in the case? NO

Does getting married make you look like a responsible citizen who wouldn't possibly commit this crime? NO

I could search CA policy on this, but why bother. I do know that in my system it is very time consuming and difficult to get married in pre-trial.

Wait until after he is sentenced to see if you still want to marry him. Then you can save yourself a costly divorce later.
