I had some work done on my vehicle which required several new parts being put on.
One part, the catalytic converter, was replaced. A week after I was driving it, the engine light came on. The mechanic said to bring it in and he would hook it up to his machine and see what the problem was. Seems the new converter is bad and needs to be replaced again.

He also scratched my vehicle during this time period he had my vehicle and said he would replace the converter and get my door painted like new.

It's been THREE WEEKS now, and I keep calling and the guy who answers the phone keeps giving me excuses as to why the mechanic can't take my call. So I emailed the mechanic.

I got a voice mail the other day from the mechanic that said to call him. I've been calling for the past three days, and they have only picked up the phone twice..........once I was told the mechanic was at lunch and would call me back (he never did) and the second time the guy who answered the phone just put it down on the counter and walked off. I waited for 20 minutes for somebody to come back and nobody did. But I heard voices near the phone, so I KNOW they were there!

My vehicle won't pass inspection this way, and the exhaust stinks really bad. And it even smells like gas inside the vehicle sometimes.
And I swear I have even seen a bit of white smoke coming from the tailpipe a couple of times.

This has been going on for almost a month now.

What are my legal options to get my vehicle fixed? I'm out of money and I need my vehicle repaired!

What US state?
Why don't you go and talk to the mechanic?
Texas.

I have stopped by on the way home several times, and all he says is "I will set something up", and then I never hear from him.

He finally responded to my email..........I think.

I asked him if he was ever going to fix my vehicle, or do I take it to another shop and have them send him the bill.

All he replied with is "yes".

This is the kind of mind games he plays.
