TX. My little cousin is 18 yrs old. She had her child at 17 w/a 24 yr old mentally and abusive man. Just recently the father decided he wanted full custody of the child. The father tricked and threatened the mother to sign some documents. Being young and scared she did not realize she signed over her rights until she had visited some family members. She was suggested to leave the abusive situation and then was slapped with a subpoena to return the child in court.

Is there anything she can do even though already signing over the rights?

It would greatly be appreciated for any advice given. Thanks in advance!

She needs an attorney. NOW. If she can't afford one then the family needs to help her out. This problem can be repaired, but it needs to be handled quickly.
