I think anyone, especially a 20 year old with some family issues, is going to need some help and guidance dealing with a situation like 11 year old criminal charges that occurred at SINGLE DIGIT age. That's a massive failure of the state, and fixing massive state failures is not an easy DIY fix.

I'm sorry, but this 'teachable moment' schtick seems misplaced, and even naive to the point of just being dumb.
Truthfully this child is not competent to be charged at all with any offense. NOT. AT. ALL. Even if he grew up. It is based upon the time at which he did it. An attorney should be able to get this dismissed IMMEDIATELY.

I totally agree. It seems (to use xylene's words) a massive failure by the state.

And again I want to say that, despite obstacles that many children cannot navigate around, feliciawinn and her siblings appear to be doing a remarkable job.
