My husband does drugs. Can I keep my son from him?

Custody is not determined by what's legal. It's determined by what's best for the kids - which is not always the same thing.

I sometimes drive a little bit over the speed limit. That's illegal. Does that make me a worse parent than someone who neglects their kids, treats them like dirt, and doesn't spend any time with them - but who drives at the speed limit?

I have to say that breaking any law is not condoned on this forum and ask you to cease and desist from speeding in the future.

It's all about 'best interests' of the child - and most courts consider occasional pot smoking when the kids aren't around to be fairly harmless.

I'm sure the judge would sell you a joint if you didn't smoke it in front of the kids.

because I am pro pot, that auto makes me a drug addict? or a regular pot smoker?

just because I think (alot of people think) this nation would be served well to have some action on legalizing, does not automaticly make me a pot smoker.

and as a matter of fact, it was ME who said mom might want to mention this concern because it might, might not make a difference, and it wouldnt hurt her to throw mud. (I bet she smokes too, rarely is there a couple, where only one smokes pot.)
