i was thinking of sending him this letter. what do you guys think?

This is a letter concerning your unfair eviction notices sent to me and other residents. In 2015 when I moved in, my father and I spent 8 months of hard work rebuilding my home. You were informed of this, but for whatever reason, perhaps because you thought it was taking to long, you served me an eviction notice. No time limit was placed on the repairs when it was discussed. This is a breach of your verbal contract with me.

Yesterday, September 1st, you sent me another eviction notice concerning my green house. It read that I would be evicted in 10 days if I do not destroy it. Verbal permission was obtained over the phone in November of last year for this construction. This is another breach of verbal contract.

I will be filing a notice of intent to appeal eviction at the Nashua Courthouse, and suing you for $10,000 if you do not send an apology letter in 5 days.

In addition, I will be going door to door to all residents asking about additional unfair eviction notices sent to them and will form a class action lawsuit, unless you agree to stop harassing your tenants.

Sincerely,

(Name removed)
I would run that by an attorney before you make those kinds of threats.

I think it's idiotic and juvenile. I also think you should redact identifying information.

It appears that you built this greenhouse on the common area of a mobile home park in which you rent a space. Correct? Do you also rent the mobile home in which you live?

If that's correct, then the landlord has control over the common area and can revoke the permission at any time.

Nothing in your post suggests any present basis for suing, and issues affecting other tenants are, legally, none of your business.

None of this is a breach of contract and, in fact, there is no indication a contract existed at all. Verbal permission to build a greenhouse does not constitute a contract.

What gave you the impression that it was built on the common area? While it is pretty large that doesn't preclude that the lot was too small to accomadate it.

@LettuceHead

That letter looks like it was written by someone that just watched way too many episodes of some bad lawyer TV show.

Also, your OP said this was about a greenhouse. Your letter mentions nothing of a greenhouse and you talk about "rebuilding my home". Do you live in a greenhouse?

You also didn't answer the very pertinent question...

Did you check to see if such a building required a building permit? And if so and it did, did you get one?

as to the greenhouse , take it apart and store it in a self storage unit and plan for a move in the future, As to a new landlord your addresses property tax records can tell you if there has been a change of ownership, its all public information , no one can hide it from anyone who wants to look at county property tax records . Obviously if you put it on a concrete slab leave the slab as is. Next time around get it in writing.
It's 14' x 18'. Even disassembled, that's a lot of space.

I believe that your landlord is almost as ignorant of the law as you. Based on your draft, you should get an initial consult with a lawyer.

LH mobile home parks are being treated as cash cows by investors , I suppose because the market is a hostage market, where most cannot just afford to up and move and since you have not got any written agreements to allow the structure you built yes they can force you to take it down , I too dont feel any letter sent by you will change anything. Your landlord doesnt have to care and good odds are if tenants leave or take older units out it will let them just find another person to rent a lot from them.

ok. ill sell my house and buy a plot of land far away from everyone where i can drive a new mobile home and park it there, dig a well and build a real house. i hope i dont have to commute over an hour to work in nashua, nh. thanks for your help. if anyone knows of spots near nashua, nh where i can build freely let me know. thanks again

your county can tell you what its zoning rules are for siting a manufactured home and that includes siting one on land that is not in a MH community and that includes if you purchase a used home to relocate. ( check your city to learn if they have any tax foreclosed lots and to learn if you can site a Manufactured home on it )

LettuceHead, your post was reported to the moderator for editing. You should not use real names in your posts.

You should learn the reason for the landlord’s objection to the greenhouse before threatening to sue. I imagine any permanent structure would require written consent from the landlord and building permits from your local government.

Yep. If you want to be master of your domain, you have to OWN your domain.

When you are renting, you are subject to your lease and park rules. If you are going to rent, HAVE A LEASE. If you are going to make huge changes to the property, get WRITTEN permission.

However, don't be so melodramatic. Some of the existing houses in the Nashua area aren't so bad, if you're handy. There seem to be plenty of people converting older structures, like barns, into residential space too. It's just not FREE.
