My husband died six years ago, and I kept my hyphenated name. I am now interested in dropping the hyphenation and returning to my maiden name, but the process in Minnesota for a legal name change is a hassle I'm not ready for. Someone said I could just do an AKA. Is that legal? I don't need to change any legal documents, I just want to use my maiden name and have the hyphenated name on my legal documents. Thanks.
