What do you want me to tell you? BORROW MONEY FROM YOUR FAMILY. What is so hard about that GOOD advice? Many people pay student loans past age 45. Many people's bad decisions haunt them forever (including mine). My cousin has an $800/month payment.

Oh for heaven's sake - quitcherwhining. As others have told you - it was YOUR responsibility to check out the school and assess their reputability. You chose not to do so - be it out of ignorance, laziness, whatever. People make mistakes and have to deal with the consequences. Just as you do.

There are many expensive lessons in life. If I kept looking back at the first time I started school 15 years ago and left to marry my high school sweetheart who promptly cheated on me and left me with nothing, I wouldn't be where I was at now. Sure, it took 10 years before I was able to afford to return to school, but if it hadn't been for the experiences I had in the intervening decade, I wouldn't be where I am today with full funding for a BS and an MSW. Stop telling yourself this experience "ruined" your life. The credits may not transfer, but the education will -- from the classroom and getting burned.
