You were advised of the possible ramifications of admitting to lying ... of the possible ramifications of perjury ... of the ramifications of allowing him to remain in the home ... if you wanted someone to hold your hand and give you a pat on the back saying that all you want to do is have him counseled, you came to the wrong place because that is not what happens in DV arrests.
You call the cops, they get involved, and people go to jail. They are not family therapists or there to scare your spouse when you disagree. They are also not there to raise your kids (sorry ... pet peeve of mine ... too many calls of "My 8-year-old is out of control" ... ugh).
My god...I'm just asking what my rights are.
As you were told: Do not lie, and consult an attorney before you take the stand to confess to a criminal act (perjury or making a false police report). Other than that, you have no real options as the state is the one prosecuting the case - not you. You can certainly call the DA, but as I said the DA's office expects you to call and recant.
