i am a fairly literate person. do i have a basic understanding of "indemnify" ? i suppose
but to be honest, i would have to look it up. i cant say that i totally was aware of the exact meaning of it as jal laid out
so i cant say i like that particular word
i would rather have a couple of sentences, or whatever it takes, to specifically tell me what is happening.
for example, i would like the definition of the word in the document as jal has put in
i did not mean to imply that i always cut down on the length of documents, although i probably do MOST OF THE TIME
there will be some times when i will include many simple sentences, to make sure of any sort of clarification or understanding
i dont ever want to assume that someone knows the exact definition of "indemnification"
i think all of us are basically on the same train of thought - making sure the document is understood by the person paying for it
and i think sharing of ideas and feedback may be beneficial to all of us. as a systems analyst, it was usually a good thing to get some feedback on issues.
in this case, perhaps what i might do is use the word "indemnify" to start things off. but then go on to explain what i mean by that word, so that everyone knows exactly what i intended, by the use of that word. we may all have the same connotation of a simple word like "win". but do we all have the same connotation of the word "beautiful" ? LOL
