I have an obnoxious neighbor who has planted an intrusive vine on my fence, and yes she knows it is mine, on our property. We had the property surveyed in preparation for a wooden fence as the current one is chain link, but due to the high cost, elected to plant a hedge instead.
Am I within my rights to clip off or kill the vine attached to the fence?

First, what State are you in?

Second, you say that she's planted the vine ON your fence -- do you mean it's planted in the ground on her property, but growing up your fence?

What happened when you discussed this with your neighbor like a rational adult.

Inform her you intend on removing the chain link fence and plant a hedge. Inform her she will need to cut the vines back from your fence so they don’t get pulled out of the ground when you remove the fence.

No....the fence is staying as is, the hedge is on the inside. Will cut the crap off my fence.

That would imply she s a rational adult and not a screaming drunk narcissist. She wants our large trees cut down because they are in the way of her solar pool heating units. Nope.

My misunderstanding. I thought you were removing the fence and was going to install a wood fence but decided to go with just s hedge.

Which side of the fence will your hedge be; your side or their side?

How much space is there on their side of the fence between the fence and your property line?
