Ohio
My dad had opened up a secondary bank account many many years ago. When he had moved to a different city (same state), he withdrew the money from that account (didn't close it) and simply left the city.
So a few weeks ago he gets a call from a collection agency saying he owes $1500. It turns out that his old bank had a monthly minimum balance requirement that was not met for years. My dad pretty much told them to "**** ***".
This is the first time he had heard of this. The bank never called before sending in the debt.
What would happen if the collectors take my dad to court?
