http://www.gibault.org/ CARE: Child and Adolescent Residential Environment

Gibault's Child and Adolescent Residential Environment (CARE) program is designed to meet the needs of males, ages 6 to 18, and females, ages 6 to 18 in a staff-secure environment. The program focuses on five essential areas: the client's physical, educational, emotional, spiritual and social needs. The importance of the adult/child relationship is the core of Gibault's treatment philosophy. A consistent and structured environment provides a setting for clients to demonstrate newly learned behaviors. A team of professionals monitor each client's progress to ensure appropriateness, continuity, and quality of care. The treatment review team usually consists of clinical, residential, educational, medical, recreational and senior-level staff.

Gibault Inc's clinical psychologist is on staff Monday through Friday. A psychiatrist is also available as a consultant.

Clients involved in the CARE program are exposed to a variety of programs and services designed to meet their individual needs. The following services are available:

Thank you

Thank you my life is mine. That gives me some more things to think about. I also forgot to thank you earlier for the links! It's good to hear that your child is so much better now. My ds has a cousin that everyone says acted just like ds does now but this child's parents refused to ever allow him any type of help. That child is grown now and sitting in state prison. I am so afraid of that for my child. Thanks again!

edited to add: the villages is one of the services we already use, but I have not heard about the others. Thanks!

With a strong will and alot of guidance you can prevent what happend to his cousin.

It will take work, alot of it, daily, there will be days you will want to throw your hands up and say, forget this, let someone else do this. There will be days you will cry, scream, be angry at him, yourself and everyone else. But, then things like he will do something, oh so sweet, and you will battle yourself and ask yourself why did I think the previous. Always, always remember he is a child, he did not ask to be like this, he is wanting help. Be there, be strong even at your lowest moment. He needs his parent and hopefully parents!

You are blessed to have him!!

If you turn on your pm's we can talk more about your child's difficulties and solutions to help.
