What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Nevada

There's a piece of vacant land for sale in Humboldt County, Nevada, that is listed as having a domestic well already drilled. However, neither the county (assessor's office) nor the state (Division of Water Resources) has any record of a well being drilled on the property. Seller/realtor claims it was drilled in the late 1980's when "many wells were drilled without logs/documentation/permits". Is this a legal well, or not? If not, is there a way by which is can be registered with the state/county such that it can be used for domestic use?

From the State of Nevada Division of Water Resources (2015), a link to Water Resources and frequently asked questions about them:

http://water.nv.gov/faq/water.cfm

Permits are not needed for the drilling of domestic wells and are allowed if the parcel of land cannot be supplied water from a public water supply. There has been some recent debate and proposals for water restrictions on domestic wells in Nevada but I am not sure what the status of any of these proposals are or whether they would affect the well on the land you are looking to purchase. You should contact your local county water district office for information.
