What is the name of your state? Ca.

Hi. I live on a lot with 2 units. I'm in the back house. The tenant that lives in the front house keeps calling the landlord on me for various reasons. Rent costs have sky rocketed and I really don't want to have to move, but she is making my life miserable. Example of starting trouble: I have an RV that I keep in storage. I had it in the shop and when it was done, I parked it out front until the person where I store it at got off work to let me park it there again. Within 15 minutes of pulling up, I get a text telling me to tell whoever is living in the RV that they can't do their laundry here. I don't know where she came up with that one but she calls the landlord and tells him the same thing. Ever since she moved in, she has just been an ugly person to my guests and myself. I usually try to ignore her but I'm tired of explaining myself. I have never been nothing but nice to her. Anyways, is there anything I can do about it? Thanks for any advice up front. I appreciate it.

Sorry, but the only solution to a crappy neighbor is to move or accept that you'll have to keep explaining yourself.

When you explain yourself to the landlord, do it in write so you have a solid paper trail and maybe he'll get tired of her.

when you write up a response keep a copy for your self and send it Via certificate of mailing and staple your copy to your postal receipt ( this is the lowest cost method of mailing that gives you proof of sending out mail to another party and at least here where I live the courts have never rejected that method when i used it and ended up in court with a tenant.

Crappy neighbors will outlive and outlast you.

Took me 11 years to figure that out long ago, then sold my house and moved.

RVs are contentious issues in almost every area, and especially so in California, where their use as alternative housing is especially problematic.

Do you share water with the front house tenant?

Honestly, this all sounds very petty. Just ignore her.

Edit to add: My neighbors do not know my cell phone number and I would never give it to them.

Communicate with your neighbor through the landlord. It will save endless headaches.

If she texts you again reply "I do not wish to be contacted by you. Please communicate with me only via our landlord.

Then mark her number as spam and block it.

:)
As satisfying as that might be, I'd want to know if I was being harassed and if any specific threats were made. Of course if I also thought I might be tempted to respond in kind, then that's another point for blocking.

So redirect it to voicemail and never give the petty neighbor the pleasure of having you pick up. It gets boring when they leave messages and you never respond.
