I apologize... I was being a bit snide... what they are all called is not an issue, and I found it a little odd that everyone here gets so upset about it... Dad doesn't care what he gets called as long as he gets to see his daughter and be her daddy, as he has always been... I can imagine the response to a letter from my husband to the GAL stating that he is the child's only father... yet another example of how controlling dad is and that he has to argue every small point... he figures it is smarter to stick to the issues that are important - like resolving the larger issue and not worrying about small insults.

I'm sure that dad would appreciate your input into the legal situation
Be snide. YOu also misled us. YOu come on with the title NCPDad and yet you are not. you are stepmom. Sorry but until I can be sure you are being honest about your situation I will not be helping.

I apologize for misleading you. I am appreciative of your post outlining some of the rules here - I hope it stays on the front page for newbies - it will save a lot of trouble, I think.

You mentioned, I think, that you agree that other boards use the abbreviations. I'm sure you've noticed that other boards also have the steps posting under the ncp/cp title, so that the people reading the post immediately know which side of the family the poster is on... often both the parent and the step will post using the same account and therefore, it eliminates some confusion and immediately gives information. And in fact, at deltabravo... (Sparc), the old Socrateaser board, which was entirely for legal questions, answered by a lawyer, advised us that he could not give legal advise to a person not a party, so we were instructed to post as if we were the involved party, if we were not. Once again, I was not aware that this normal practice would be seen here as misleading or lying. I apologize that it was.

I'm especially sorry that this has offended you, Ohiogal. You seem intelligent, and as a family law attorney, my stepdaughter and my husband could definitely use your help. I hope that someday, I might earn your trust so that they can benefit from your advice.

Take care,

Stepmom in New Jersey

Don't do that either. It DOESN'T eliminate confusion. It causes it.

Here's my suggestion. Let Dad, should he choose to come here, use the name you've created.

Create your own ... maybe SMomInNJ or something. THEN tell the story w/FACTS and not feelings, with questions clearly outlined.

Tell us it's you and that you're starting over. And try not to be snide. That's my niche. ;)

I agree with Cjane. Oh and I am now adding YET ANOTHER RULE to my posting. Thanks to Ncpdad stepmom whoever you are at this point.
