I got a phone call from a law firm saying that they were going to file for felony fraud because I did not pay back a pay day loan, when I got it I planned on paying it back but other bills were more important and I let it lapse. When I asked if I could do payments they declined that I would have to pay in full over the phone. I have contacted a laywer for a free consultation but I have not received a call from them yet. I know in the state of Florida I can not be jailed for not paying the payday loan but is there a way they can prove fraud even though that was not my intention?
