I admit, this may sound trivial, but it signifies an ongoing trend. According to wording in employment contract, it clearly states in writing that an employee should get paid for both washington's birthday and presidents day. i contacted payroll when i only got paid for president's day. i was told that the two holidays were one in the same and that i was not entitled to payment for both. i next called union rep. who said that even though wording was clear, that both washington's and president's day should be paid, he said that the phrase "washington's birthday" should have been eliminated in final printing; oversight. shouldn't written contract be honored? what good is the written contract if it can be sidestepped with the comment that it's an oversight? do i have any options? thanks!
