What is the name of your state? Texas

First off, nothing is stated in my decree in regards to phone calls. I remember that my attorney told me when I was going through the divorce, that there are certain "guidelines" designated by the state written somewhere. He said that NCP is allowed one phone call a day to their child.

Is it the same for the CP when the child is with NCP? What if noone answers the phone, and a message is left, but no return call..... Can I call again, or do I have to wait until the next day, or how does this work? My son has never been with his dad for this long, and I miss him and really want to talk to him. We are going to court next month (b/c NCP filed for lower CS pmts), and I don't want to do anything he could try and ream me for. I just want to hear my little boy's voice :(
I'm an NCP and I call everyday (once) come hell or high water. Most of my conversations with my son are about 2 minutes long but I make sure I tell him I'm thinking about him and that I love him very much. There are no guidelines for phone calls but there are guidelines that protect parents against limited access to the children.

Amen. At the moment, I too am NCP, and I call daily. My daughter is only 3, so like jslopez the calls are short, but while my ex is keeping her from me, I want her to know I am thinking about her and I love her.

BTW, the ex really hates me for it, but I feel that interrupting "his time" is justified because even though we are sposed to have equal parenting time, he has only allowed me 6 weeks time in over a year. (I.E. the reason we are in a custody battle). He'll just have to deal with sharing those 2 minutes a day.
