So he commits a misdemeanor, does not show for his hearing, which makes 2 misdemeanors and you think the court is not going to issue a warrant? Have you been using recreational MJ in AZ already?
The dmv hearing to determine the license status is often separate from the arraignment on the criminal charge. The o.p. was not clear whether he did not show for the criminal charge, the dmv hearing or both. A no show at the dmv hearing means an automatic license suspension not a warrant. As I am not familiar with Az the o.p. should look into this to determine his status.

Sorry, I did not think there was an answer causing that disparity. I can see how the potential exists though, written word and stuff. I have done it myself, in the past. If you re-read exacty what OP said initially, he clearly said he confused the 2 also and considered an appeal to the dmv as automatically resetting his criminal hearing, which he then missed.

anyway he gave me some advice like to take a letter to the dvm that says i request a hearing. i thought this would set up a new hearing other than the court hearing listed on my papers i got by the police. so i requested this hearing.

just last week i got a letter saying my driving privilege is suspended for not attending the court date.
what are my next steps what should i do?
