I agree OP owes it ..and his buying a car is not relevant ....it's largely a matter of negioation of a repayment schedule that is workable for both sides ...not necessarily prefect for everyone ..that said OP, if you make an agreement , stick to it..no slip ups

Personally I think seeking a 4 year payback is way too long to be reasonable
