What is the name of your state? Pennsylvania
There is a house going in on a parcel of land that boarders ours.
The power company sent a letter requesting a 20ft easement to
bury powerlines for that home from a pole near the corner of my
land. I am not interested in giving anyone an easement of any
kind for any reason.
There are approximately 3 poles across the roadway from their
property along the front of their property. I don't see why they
cannot just get their own pole and run lines to it and bury line
from there to their home. My pole carries lines across the
roadway, as do the other homes.
I don't want to tick off new neighbors, but I feel that it is rude
of them to expect me to surrender the use of any portion of my
property when they have other ways of getting power. I would
have found another way without even asking someone for an
easement!
My Attorney says to just ignore the request, and they should
find another way. I am just wondering if there is any way that
they can make me give the easement. There is no existing
easement of any kind there as far as I know right now.
