What is the name of your state? AL. Can someone in a family give power of attorney just by word of mouth? (verbal) or dose it have to be in writing. Ex. A father buying a PWC for his son and signing his sons name on the bill of sale.
This is not a good example of the use of power of attorney. Having a POA does not give one the right to sign someone else's name. The person holding the POA would sign his name then note under the signature the POA for the person he represents. Also, the seller of the item does not have to accept the POA, especially in the example you give. If you are a minor a POA cannot be used to circumvent the requirement that the purchaser of an item must be an adult.
sorry to but in here but you are saying no matter what, if someone has POA then must sign their name and the name of who they have POA over? Would that be for all documents even stock certificates and so forth?

The power of attorney does not give one the right to sign someone else's name. The person holding the POA must sign their name then make a POA statement under it. Normally it would be "POA for John Doe". In some circumstances, a copy of the POA must be included with the document.
