i have been told i can settle my late husband's estate by affidavit because of it's monetary value. ex-wife with 2 minor children think's he had more than he really does. would this be the way to go and if so ,how do i go about it?

Go to the court that handles probate in your county and ask the clerk for the simplified probate procedure forms and complete them and file them and do what the clerk tells you and then see what happens.
