What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Massachusetts

Due to tornado damage, ins. adjusters says that the ceiling, roof, and all windows must be replaced. Without pulling any wallboard panels, says that wall beams and studs are OK.
Question: If during repairs, structural damage is discovered and the Ins. Co. decides to replace house. Will the cost of work previous to the discovery of the damage be deducted from the final settlement, or will the Ins. Co. be responsible for the complete payment?

You do realize that if an individual stud or beam is damaged that individual stud or beam can be replaced? Most structural damage can be repaired.

Public Adjuster Services

Most homeowners have no idea that there are licensed public adjusters in their state. Not all states recognize this service though so check with your State Insurance commissioner's office.

Public adjusters do NOT work for the Ins Co. We work for the homeowner or the business owner. We review the current policy in force and inspect the property. We then will advise and help the claimant prepare their claim for submission to the Ins co. We are paid on a negotiated contigency basis. Many times it has been my experience we are able to secure a large settlement than policyholder doing this on their own. We also can help with re-submits when an outright denial occurs or the settlement amount was ridiculous.

Good luck
