The cop told me if "it" happens again, I assumed he was referring to the cat nip and pictures, It will be considered harassment so I presume I will be arrested at that point.
Okay - the officer was trying to prevent a problem from getting any further out of hand. He came to you and accused you of doing it. He may be bluffing and there may be nothing he can do ... on the other hand, leaving things on someone's doorstep can probably be a crime on a couple of levels.
There was no crime committed, and no evidence pointing to me as the guilty person. Just suspension, hersay, and general biased racist discriminatory allegations. am I right so far?
I suppose you meant to write, "suspicion" and "hearsay"? But what has racism got to do with it?
Of course, I don't read anywhere here that you DENY the act, only that there is no proof that you did it.
Okay. If there is no proof then you have nothing to fear as they could never prove you committed the crime - if, indeed, a crime has been committed under ME law.
What can I do besides take the accusers to small claims court? What can I sue for? Harassment, False accusations, something to that effect. As far as this police department what can I do?
Not a heck of a lot.
Someone finds some mysterious and possibly unnerving stuff on their doorstep ... they call the police ... for some reason they think it is you ... they talk to you, you deny it, they tell you not to do it again.
What do you sue for? Where is the damage? Who committed the damage?
You can always complain to the police department, I suppose. You can complain about the way you were treated, but nothing you wrote thus far indicates that anything happened that might give rise to a discrimination or lawsuit.
The cop said this was confidential and it has been documented. So I asked if it is on public record at all. He said no. How can I and Where can I sue the Police Department.
Again, sue them for what?
Or contacting the press is a better option? Media attention seems to stir things up. Wakes society up.
Provided the media sees this as any kind of a story. Unless ME is a real sleepy place, this would be kind of a non-starter. Maybe if you were arrested or beaten you might be able to generate some interest.
I think you are making much more of this than there needs to be.
Also keep in mind that if you are on the fringe of popular culture, people WILL look at you differently. Whether it is out of fear or ignorance, people may view your actions or belief system with suspicion. Nothing you wrote indicates that anyone did anything illegal. And acting out of fear or ignorance is not - by itself - illegal.
